5th march - pulse of europe

Post by jessemorning »

ok we'll meet at 1:30pm as it starts 2pm
locaton - We will be gathered in Kingston Parade outside the tourist information office just next to the abbey. A natural arena inside the quadrangle of benches. People will arrive from 1:30 https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@51.38094 ... 312!8i6656

setlist: star(s)man
the good the bad and the ugly
farewell to cheyenne (europe)

also bring these:

brothers all
star trek
caravan
happy africa
tico tico
dum maro dum
5 years
house of pleasure
ghost town

here's what tony ambrose (holly's dad) says:
"... it would be great if they kicked the thing off as people assembled at 2 p.m. I would love to see one musician walk into the square ( outside the tourist info ofcie, its a quadrangle with bencehs arranged in a square,) and start playing for a short while , then another, then another and suddenly you have a small orchestra. We are thinking of a 5 minute musical intro then we switch to soapbox short speeches for 15 mins max.

That takes us to around 2:20 and it is about then that we will get everyone to link arms or hands and perhaps form a huge long chain and then we will form a procession down the main shopping spine of Bath and back up ( stall street and Milson street) led by the fantasy orchestra. That will take about 15 minutes or so we will return to the Abbey churchyard round about 2:40/2:45.

Then people will mill around, maybe another speech and a little music then people will gradually melt away by 3."

here's what he further says:
"Location: We will be gathered in Kingston Parade outside the tourist information office just next to the abbey. A natural arena inside the quadrangle of benches. People will arrive from 1:30 https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@51.38094 ... 312!8i6656

When Please be ready to start on the dot of 2 pm. You will be opening the event with 2-3 minutes of energising or romantic or inspiring (possibly European) music.

Then speeches for max 15 minutes.

Procession will leave at around 2:20 and the Orchestra will be at the front.. Great if you can play some ambling type music, or rousing European stuff..whatever ...We will not be going on any trafficed roads, only up and down the main pedestrian spine. There will be 4 of us who will walk in front of the band with our banner so they will lead the way and the band just follow.

The route details are on the attachment.

We will get back to the starting point by 2:45 , then that's it, everyone can go home, and we hope the orchestra enjoys it too.

We have told the local media and BBC and ITV, so we could be filmed."

let's think of a suitable setlist for marching around europe!
