How to get to St Michael's

How to get to St Michael's "The Mount Without"

The church is at the bottom of St Michael's Hill on the left hand side as you start up the hill. If you're on foot or bike you can come through the gate on Lower Church Lane or the one further up the hill on the left (there's a sign for The Mount at that point). Head round to the main door on the tower side.

Where to park:

There is no parking at the church itself so you can park...
On the street - The closest paid parking is on St Michael's Hill and Horfield Road. There are a few spaces on Lower Park Row, and also on Colston Street
In a public car park - Trenchard Street multi storey is the nearest, access it via the entrance opposite the back of the Bristol Beacon or from Lodge Street (steep cobbled road at the side).
At Bristol Uni - See below for details

Large instrument load in ( and alternative parking):

You can drop off large instruments from the corner of the Bristol University car park on the corner of Old Park Hill and Lower Church Lane ( approach from Park Row, there's a narrow road running up behind a wall on the left ).It's about 40m on the level to the church door. There are warning signs all around, but we believe this is OK. Our deep cover spies inside the University have checked with the relevant people and it is apparently OK to park there out of hours without being subjected to clamping or extortion. It was fine for those who parked up there two weeks ago, however parking there is at your own risk as we can't guarantee it's fine to be there. But definitely don't park in the school car park which is next to it!!

If you aren't comfortable with chancing it, you can drop larger instruments off further along Lower Church Lane by the steps, and then park elsewhere. There will be willing helpers.
