Updated covid info for rehearsals

Post by georgianalowe »

Rehearsals and COVID

You must take a lateral flow test on the day of the rehearsal, and report the result via the NHS website.
You must bring proof of a negative test to the rehearsal - as a text, on your COVID pass, or as a printout
That's it .

Why are we doing this?

We need to put protocols in place to minimise the risk of members catching or transmitting COVID at a rehearsal. We have members who are reluctant to attend as they themselves are at high risk, or have close contact with those who are at risk. We'd like them to feel that they could attend a rehearsal, so we're being as careful as possible

Why is the COVID pass not sufficient ?

It may indicate that you are less likely to become seriously ill if you have been twice vaccinated and boosted. It will, however NOT prevent you from catching, and more importantly, passing on the virus to others more vulnerable than yourself. Although it is not perfect, a negative lateral flow test result is, we feel, the best way to keep members as safe as we can at present.

The NHS COVID pass verifier app we are using does not store your details, or pass anything to NHS track and trace

What if I arrive without having done a test ?

We will have some emergency test packs should your arrive at rehearsal not having done a test. Should you have to use one of these, you will have to go outside and wait for the test result to develop fully. They are in short supply, so you will also have to replace the test kit at the next rehearsal.
