Timetable - TIMES ARE FAIRLY TIGHT SO PROMPTNESS AND EFFICIENCY WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED
Arrive and start setting up 14:30
First set begins 15:15
Interval 16:05
Second set begins 16:25
Stop playing and start packing up 17:15
Everyone out of the Kings Weston house & grounds by 18:00
Location and how to get there
The party will be at Kings Weston House, Bristol BS11 0UR. How to get there:
Car or bike: about 30 minutes by car or 40 minutes by bike from central Bristol. If
you put the postcode into your satnav, it should take you right to Kings Weston
House. There’s guest parking by the house.
Bus: about 8 minutes’ walk from the Penpole Lane stop in Shirehampton. Bristol
buses 3, 4 & 11 go there. The stop is just before Penpole Lane when you’re coming
from central Bristol.
Train: it’s 25 minutes’ walk from the nearest train station (Shirehampton), so this may
not be your best option.
If it’s not rainy, the orchestra will play outdoors, at the top of the grand steps at the
front of the house. If it’s rainy, the orchestra will play in the Vanburgh room. To get to
the Vanburgh room from the front entrance of the house, go straight through the first
room into a room with a big staircase, the Vanburgh room is through a door on the
Left. It’s a large room with big windows.
Refreshments
There won’t be supper at the party: however, there will be a bar tab. Help yourselves
to drinks at the bar during the interval.
Costume
The costume from the ankles up is full fantasy sparkliness: more is more.
For shoes, bear in mind that the path to the house can get muddy. Trainers should
be OK, but maybe don’t arrive in your most delicate footwear.
There will be a (very small) prize for the most fabulous outfit at the party.
