Colston Hall Friday - 27th February

Post by stan_trumpet »

Hi all

Just a reminder of the order of things on Friday.

NOTE :We are performing in a public space, and while we will spread off the small stage, we will have to maintain access to the toilets and lift areas. It will be a squeeze. Should be really packed towards the end as the house for the BSO arrive. It's a great opportunity to show what we're about.

Location : Colston Hall Foyer - Ground floor
Setup : From 17:00. Guitars, bass, keys, drums we'll need to fit around you so as early as you can make it. Strings will have mics so
Green Room : There is a room at the rear of the stage area on the ground floor
Sound check : 18:00 prompt
Set Starts : 18:15
Set Ends : 19:15 ( no later )
After show : The Sportsman's Bar, Colston Street ( just up the road )

We'll have to stash Stevie's drum kit after our performance for him to pick up later, so feel free to help with that.

Its the first gig for some, so here's the checklist - we're at a well lit indoor venue so some things wont apply...)

Here is a provisional list of what to take to gigs apart from your instrument
At some point I have, or others have, left any of the following items at home.....

Set List ( Check on the day - it can change )
Music ( To match set list....)
Music Stand ( To keep music off the floor )
Clothes pegs ( To keep music on stand if disturbed by wind or passing Orchestra member squeezing past on unfeasably small stage)
Tent pegs ( To hold music stand down if set up on grass )
Music light ( To see music when there are no lights. Mighty Bright are recommended )
Spare batteries ( For music light as they don't last for ever )
Glasses ( If you need them to read music)
Pen/pencil ( To write stuff on your part, changes to set list etc )
Costume ( You don't want to look out of place in you regular clothes now, do you ? )
Flyers ( With Orchestra contact details for potential new members )
Umbrella ( Could be some standing around in the rain involved )
