Troopers Hill performance, 27 June

Post by Alto Ruth »

Hi All

Our eyes may be on The Midsummer Ball at the moment but following hot on its heels will be this one for the Friends of Troopers Hill Local Nature Reserve.
Performance actually starts at 6.30, Sat 27 June. Picnics encouraged (but not BBQs)

Directions:

If coming by car aim for Malvern Rd BS5 8JB. Park on the residential street (with due consideration for local residents) and walk through the large kissing gate at the east end of Malvern Rd into Troopers Hill Field. Walk along the unsurfaced track to the right, across the field to walk through the entrance, towards the large industrial chimney on Troopers Hill. It is possible for 4 vehicles to get onto the Field if there's heavy kit, but volunteers would have to carry stuff the remaining distance - avoid if poss. Directions for walkers, cyclists, bus users are on http://www.troopers-hill.org.uk/visiting/index.htm

I can't be there for this performance, but Steven Knight has heroically taken on being point of contact should this outdoor event be cancelled on the day because of a tornado or some such. Hope it's a good one. Rx

ACCESS for people with lots of stuff to carry
We do have the combination for the padlock on the gate so heavy things can be driven up the unsealed track to very close to the performance site, which is near the chimney (good land mark). Contact Steve Knight stevejknight@btinternet.com if you would like the padlock combination, or call me on the day 07726 916449.

SOUND
Does anyone have an extra two microphones and an amplifier for the choir?

People from the orchestra kindly offered to bring mics, stands, amps etc, but it would be very useful to have more to make sure the choir are properly heard.

There will be a generator with 4 electrical connections.
