Gig check list

Post by lisamuller »

This is a starter of the list, please feel free to add to this, Jesse, Stan, Jenny etc

Each gig needs:
  • an organiser
    a rhythm section
a set list which is playable with the instruments/choir/soloists that can come to the gig
at least one strong part per section of the choir and not too many of the one or more of the other sections
a conductor (which could be the same as the organiser)
someone who will introduce/announce songs and the band - a bit of banter (which could be the conductor)
prior to the event the organiser will need to make sure that:
  • the roles for the event are clear
    check who is coming
make sure we have the amps and other equipment that are needed
making sure the rhythm section know each other
make sure we advertise the event - if that is part of our role
have contacts and details for the event, be in touch with the event organiser or person who has booked the FO
send an email to everyone on when they need to be there, when we start and finish, how many sets we are playing
potentially set up a specific rehearsal
optionally a bit of a social, a place for people to get together afterwards if they choose to
